16 February 1999 in the 'Sala delle Partecipazioni' conference room at Cesaroni Palace in Perugia , Luca Ridarelli has given a lecture entitled 'Mayan Sacrificial Cenotes of the northern Yucatan: a virtual journey through the Mayan time and space'.

Palazzo Cesaroni

The beautiful libery style rooms of Palazzo Cesaroni , created by Guglielmo Calderini in 1897, today seat of the Regional Council, have been the right frame to the event organized by Sede di Perugia of Archeoclub d'Italia.
With this event the Author wished to share with everyone an exciting experience of terrestrial and underwater exploration in some of the numerous Cenotes of the Yucatan peninsula (Mexico) and more precisely of the area between Chicèn Itzà, Tulum and Akumal.

This journey in the past of the Mayan civilization goes along the space of tunnels of the Cenotes in a virtual scuba dive of those natural beauties.
A visual reconstruction of the sacrificial cerimonials made by Mayans is also presented in the lecture.

This electronic edition of the lecture is an answer to the many requests received from those that have not been able to join the original lecture 16 February in Perugia.
It is also an homage to those that attended the event at Palazzo Cesaroni expecially to the members of ArcheoClub.

A special mention goes to Dott.ssa Adriana Viscardi, President of Sede di Perugia dell'ArcheoClub , that made this nice event possible.
